What if I don’t get coverage? What will my penalty be? When will I have to pay that?
If you go more than 60 days out of the year without health insurance you will have to pay a penalty. The penalty is $325 per adult and $162.50 per child up to $9275 for a family or 2% of your household income. You will pay that fee on the tax return you file for the year that you didn’t have the coverage.
