If I move am I still covered by my health insurance plan?
Yes, you will remain covered if you move, however you may want to review your coverage. Most individual plans do not have out of network coverage. For example if you have a Select Health plan and move from Utah to Kentucky you will not have any providers, which means your insurance will only protect you in an emergency situation.
Moving gives you a “qualifying event” which means you have 60 days from the time you move to sign up for new coverage. We always recommend reviewing your coverage unless your moving a short distance, like the next city over. Insurance networks changed based on geography. Some insurance carriers only cover certain counties or regions.
